New Miraval lawsuit by Angelina Jolie accuses ‘history’ of Brad Pitt’s physical abuse before 2016 plane flight

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are currently engaged in a dispute that is nearing a boiling point and rekindling prior arguments. The controversy is about the French winery that they had previously owned together. New judicial filings suggest that Pitt had a “history of physical abuse of Jolie” previous to the tragic plane voyage that they took in 2016. This is the reason why this is the case.

A copy of the motion that Jolie submitted to the Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday was able to be obtained by CNN. Jolie filed the motion on Thursday. In the motion, Jolie asserts that she attempted to sell Pitt her stake in the Miraval winery, and that their negotiations ultimately failed because Pitt conditioned the sale on Jolie signing a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) that “prohibited Jolie from speaking (other than in court) about Pitt’s abuse of Jolie and their children by attempting to tie Pitt’s personal reputation to Miraval’s business.” Jolie’s claim is based on the fact that Pitt’s attempt to bind Jolie’s personal reputation to Miraval’s business endeavors was the reason for the failure of their negotiations.

The most recent motion that was submitted this week is a consequence of the lawsuit that Pitt submitted in the year 2022. In that particular instance, Pitt asserted that he and Jolie had reached a consensus under which neither of them would sell their stake in the winery without first obtaining the approval of the other. In a paper that he handed in in June 2023, he asserted that Jolie’s choice to sell her share of the vineyard was “vindictive” due to a “adverse custody ruling.” This was stated in the document.

Jolie asserts, in the paper that was handed in on Thursday, that Pitt’s “history of physical abuse of Jolie began well before the family’s September 2016 plane trip from France to Los Angeles.” This is an additional claim that Jolie makes in the affidavit. On the other hand, Jolie does not offer any additional details concerning the claimed harassment that took place in the past.
